If only the next to last line hadn’t come true. Last Monday, Feb. 1, Megan Estey, the 16-year-old author of this and many other poems and an accomplished photographer, passed away.

She was born Aug. 4, 1993, in Baltimore, the daughter of Joanne and Jerry Eisenstadt of Finksburg.
